Growing up in Arkansas, I have always been very "Family" oriented. Every weekend we spent visiting one set of Grandparents...that was our life, and we not only LOVED it, we are better people because of it. I have found that these days this activity is much less common than before, which to me is such a great loss. Young ones have no idea where they even come from. Their own family history is beginning to fade as the older ones age and are lost.
I found my own awareness of this tragedy when I began to plan a family reunion and thought it would be "neat" to have a slideshow with the family pictures. Little did I know, some of my history has already been lost forever. Most of the family photos are not labeled...few are left who even remember who the faces in the pictures are. Such a sad loss. Several lifetimes of our history, stories & adventures never again to be remembered.
If at all possible, I would like to help everyone avoid this loss. I want to be able to be a part of preserving YOUR family history so that it can continue to be passed on from generation to generation. If you do not take action, this will be your eventual and total loss. Please don't let that happen. Our generations past lived a life that deserves to be passed on to future generations with as much detail as if they had been there themselves. It is within our power to preserve and honor this legacy.
Old photos in a dusty photo album..... nice.
History that comes to life every time you look at them...PRICELESS!
